There may be worse bloggers out there, but I’m pretty sure I am the worst. I am slightly encouraged by the fact that it did not take me a whole year to add another post. Here goes the update:
The divorce is final, the kids are doing great, I am enjoying life and the dog still destroys very expensive items (mostly of mine!).
Okay just kidding, here are the details. As far as divorce goes, I don’t recommend it for anyone but every once in awhile you just wake up and decide you need to make a better life for yourself. I thought life would be hard without my husband, but turns out it got a lot easier. The divorce was final on June 24, 2008 and as timing would have it I flew to Vegas on June 26. It was for a bachelorette party, but we did our fair share celebrating divorce as well. I would tell you about Vegas but we all know what happens in Vegas and so you I don’t need to bore you with the details.
My kids are AWESOME. Alex had a small bit of trouble with school this year but he managed to pass the 5th grade and so it’s on the 6th for him. Alex is awesome and smart and fun and an all around great kid. Duncan will be starting kindergarten in the fall and he does not want to go. He has an excuse for everything, I told him they will spend a week just learning about dinosaurs and so he said to me, “I don’t know how to draw a dinosaur.” And when I brought up playing games with the other kids he said, “I don’t know how to play football.” Part of me wants to let him stay home and try again next year but the other part of me says it won’t be any better next year. His other excuse it that when he is old enough he will just build his own school, he is under the impression that you have to 8 years old to build things. He is so stinking cute, I just love him.
My life it going well, living with mom and dad still and hoping to be able to buy my own place soon so the boys and I can finally have our own place again. My new job is going well, even if it keeps me way too busy. The new boyfriend is even working out (most of the time anyway, afterall I am still me ;-)
Danger the dog continues to destroy expensive things, he does have good taste I guess. Lucky for him he’s cute.
